Seva Chakkara Samajam is a voluntary service and a charitable
organization functioning mainly to uplift the downtrodden, orphan, handicapped,
mentally retarded and destitute children through residential education.
Seva Chakkara Samajam was founded by Mr.A.Velayudham in 1986 (who is himself a visually handicapped, now with one artificial eye vision), later registered under Societies Act in 1990. The premises is now located in the above address on current monthly rent forming a shelter to about 62 children who also get their primary education in the premises.
In addition, there is a small center housing about 15 children, 2 aged persons and two workers at Tiruvannamalai, Tamilnadu.

The Major Donors include Rajasthani Welfare Society, Anandashram, Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Employees of E.I.D. Parry Ltd., Ashok Leyland and I.I.T. Chennai. There is no fixed donor or income as of now to the society to form a regular source of funding. Donations are generally received from the charitable minded individuals and institutions. Some of donors contribute in kind also.The Government has yet not recognized the society and the Government grant is not available. However, all contributions to the society are exempt under section 80G of Government of India Income Tax Act 1961.
An appointed auditor checks the accounts of the Seva Chakkara Samajam.

The above expenses are taking into account the bare minimum requirement based on last year’s expenses. This year there is one more center at Tiruvannamalai to be run.

The home in Chennai is a rented one at Rs.1500 per month.
Currently the roof is an asbestos sheet. The premises have a bathroom
and a toilet for the inmates. There is a metro water pump in the
house for general use. It has some basic furniture for the inmates.
A gas cooker and some vessels are available for cooking purposes.
